We asked founders how they prepare for Web Summit and why they decided to participate in Online edition
Web Summit 2020 is going to be online and it expects to reach 100K visitors from around the world. The conference takes place on 2-4 December 2020 on Western European Time (Lisbon/London/Dublin).
Born to be Ready
Born to be Ready brings innovative solutions to feminine personal hygiene.
“We are here for women to give them a better experience of menstruation. We designed a cute tampon case with a built-in nano-technology and paired it with a mobile app.”
Startup Reporter (SR): – Joanna Michalak, please, tell us what your startup is doing? Where did the idea come from and why you decided to work on it?
Joanna: – Born to be Ready offers innovative solutions in the field of feminine personal hygiene. Our main products are Ready tampon case and Ready mobile app.
Ready tampon case has highly hygienic properties thanks to its structure of built-in nano-technology, providing the tampons with the best possible protection.
To improve the experience of using Ready tampon case, we have created a dedicated mobile app. Designed as a female health companion, READY app, most of all reminds you to refill your case with tampons right before your period. You won’t find this feature anywhere else!
The idea came up simply out of need. Then we realized that there are many other women who are affected by the problem of unhygienic and uncomfortable storage of tampons in everyday life.
We have been searching, but there was no such product on the market. And so READY was born!
SR:– What do you expect from your participation in the Web Summit 2020?
Joanna: – We want to promote our Kickstarter campaign, which will be launched on December 8. We want to attract investors’ attention and contact them directly and receive guidance from mentors
Also, we need to discover what types of additional financing we could use in our business model and we look forward to sharing the experiences with other startups.
SR: – Why did you decide to participate in the Web Summit Online Edition?
Joanna: – We did not participate in previous editions because first we needed to develop the functional prototype and it absorbed us completely. Now that our technology is ready and we have legal protection, we want to share our idea with the world. WebSummit is a great opportunity for us to learn and to grow.
SR: – What would be your advice for better preparation for Web Summit to other founders who think to participate in an online conference?
Joanna: – Take the time to prepare yourself well in terms of organizing the workplace and the division of responsibilities in your team. Keep an eye on the deadlines and don’t confuse the time zone!
SR: – What would you like to wish the readers?
Joanna: – We wish them to believe in their dreams and have the courage to turn their dreams into reality!
