Europe’s startup/tech conferences of 2019

The evergreen list of 45 events for every entrepreneur, VC, journalists, #wannabefounders, corporates to decide which event & conference could be worthwhile to go to update their vision, to make contacts, have good networking and just have a good time.

It is just my vision and does not represent all the events in Europe. If you think there is one that is #must, please, suggest it with your feedback. Since 2017 I check events which could be interesting to go.

2019 has some changes:

  • UpRise Festival after 4 years, 7 International events and catering to over 25,000 attendees in Dublin and Amsterdam. UPRISE Festival Europe has come to an end.
  • After 33 years the conference CEBIT Hannover to be canceled. CEBIT’s industry-related topics will integrate into HANNOVER MESSE while also developing additional CEBIT topics into specialist events for decision-makers from vertical industries.
  • Viva Technology, Tech conference in Paris, grows and the organizers have a strong strategy to make this event bigger than the previous year. The big tour (30 dates across the 4 continents) by organizing meetups with local ecosystem players prepare the good buzz before the conference in May.
  • Web Summit, Europe’s largest tech event, will remain in Lisbon for another 10 years in a boost to Portugal’s aspirations of becoming a technology hub, anticipating that the number of participants will increase from 70,000 last year to 100,000 eventually.

Calendar changes

Even if not all festivals & conferences published their dates, it is possible to say many of them changed the period of events, in some cases 3–5 weeks earlier shift. Only such events as DLD, Mobile World Congress, Seeds & Chips, Login, IT Arena, WebSummit, Slush, Unbound remained the time.

The biggest changes were for events organized in April, May, June as in 2018 5 events as InfoShare, Pioneers, Latitude59, TNW, VivaTech were literally at the same day and after some changes they shifter (mutually?) 1–2 weeks earlier.
