European enterprises, researchers and governments can adhere to EU regulations and develop cutting-edge generative AI applications using one of Europe’s largest cloud deployments of high-performance NVIDIA GPUs.

NexGen Cloud, the avant-garde sustainable Infrastructure-as-a-Service purveyor, today unveiled strategic initiatives and secured funding for the inception of one of Europe’s pioneering AI Supercloud deployments.

Positioned as an elite member within the NVIDIA Partner Network, UK-centric NexGen Cloud is earmarking an impressive $1 billion investment to erect its AI Supercloud infrastructure in Europe, with an initial commitment of $576 million already channelled into hardware procurement from select suppliers.

This groundbreaking AI Supercloud is envisioned as a bespoke, compute-intensive bastion catering to the difficulties of Europe’s tech enterprises, institutions, and governments. Its primary mandate is facilitating the execution of intricate AI applications and research endeavours, all meticulously aligned with European jurisdictional nuances and stringent privacy statutes.

Scheduled for rollout commencement in October 2023, the AI Supercloud seeks to satiate the spiralling demand for accelerated computing, galvanized by the technology sector’s burgeoning fascination with generative AI and other facets of artificial intelligence, poised to galvanize innovation and augment operational efficiencies.

A pivotal aspect of its charter is to democratize regional, cost-effective access to GPU cloud services, ensuring that European enterprises and burgeoning startups can harness the transformative potential of these services.

In a nod to ecological prudence, NexGen Cloud’s AI Supercloud services will emanate from European data centres exclusively powered by 100% renewable energy sources. These services are tailored to address a spectrum of industries, spanning healthcare, finance, and media and entertainment.

Anticipated to burgeon to over 20,000 NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs by June 2024, the European AI Supercloud positions itself as a crucible for enterprises, providing a gateway to one of the planet’s most potent GPU-accelerated ecosystems.

AI is going to determine the economic success of nations and define the prosperity of their citizens.

The AI Supercloud will empower businesses to gain competitive advantages in the next evolution of technology, all within the European jurisdiction and the data sovereignty and security that brings.

Through our collaboration with NVIDIA, we are going to deliver an AI Supercloud that will ensure that European enterprises can be globally competitive and ahead of competition.

states Chris Starkey, CEO of NexGen Cloud.

Jaap Zuiderveld, the sagacious vice president of sales and marketing for EMEA at NVIDIA, expounds on NVIDIA’s computational prowess as the linchpin for businesses venturing into generative AI. He envisions the NexGen Cloud AI Supercloud as a gateway, endowing European enterprises with access to the zenith of computational power, thereby unleashing the full potential of AI and high-performance computing innovations.

To fortify its financial underpinnings, NexGen Cloud has forged a strategic alliance with Moore and Moore Investments Group (MMI), thereby birthing a dedicated fund that has successfully lured investments from their cadre of private benefactors.

Over the next 12 months, ingress into the AI Supercloud will be facilitated through NexGen Cloud’s recently introduced Hyperstack platform—an NVIDIA GPU-accelerated cloud ecosystem tailored explicitly for the discerning European market.

Pre-orders for the inaugural deployment in October are currently being entertained, marking a pivotal juncture in democratising access to potent AI infrastructure.

John Moore, the insightful director of MMI, contextualizes the recent breakthroughs in AI technology and the burgeoning landscape of large language models as transformative milestones for enterprises. He lauds the Hyperstack AI Supercloud as a catalyst for driving AI adoption, meeting escalating compute requisites, all while democratizing access to some of the most formidable GPU systems available.

Moore expresses unwavering confidence in the venture’s potential and eagerly extends the invitation to partake in this transformative journey to their roster of investors.
