Surveily raises €2.5M to turn factory CCTV into real-time AI safety systems: 62% fewer incidents, zero cloud dependency
Every year, more than 7 million workplace injuries disrupt industrial operations worldwide. Despite decades of investment in safety protocols, training programmes, and compliance audits, the core approach has barely changed: someone notices something dangerous, files a report, and the system responds after the fact. Safety remains fundamentally reactive.
Surveily, a Wrocław-based startup founded in 2019, is changing that equation — not by adding new hardware, but by making the cameras factories already own actually intelligent. The company has raised a €2.5 million Series A led by Momenta, one of the world’s top-ranked industrial venture capital firms, with participation from Look AI Ventures, a Czech AI-focused fund. A second close from a Polish investment fund is anticipated.
The insight: factories already have cameras — they just don’t use them
Most industrial sites have extensive CCTV networks. Cameras cover production floors, loading docks, chemical storage areas, and perimeter zones. But these cameras serve an almost entirely passive function: they record footage that someone might review after an incident has already happened. The gap between what cameras see and what organisations act on is enormous.
Surveily closes that gap. Its edge AI platform connects to existing CCTV infrastructure — compatible with over 95% of digital cameras — and analyses video in real time, locally, at the edge. No cloud dependency. No data leaving the premises. No latency between detection and alert. When a worker enters a restricted zone without PPE, when a forklift approaches a pedestrian crossing, when a spill goes unnoticed — Surveily flags it in real time, before it becomes an incident.
This is the same “retrofit what already exists” approach that is proving effective across multiple industrial categories in Europe. ENVIOTECH does it with streetlights, RESONIKS does it with acoustic quality control, and Mobility Signage does it with public transport IT. The pattern is clear: the biggest barrier to industrial modernisation is not technology — it’s implementation cost. The startups that solve for existing infrastructure win.
The numbers that matter
Surveily’s deployment data across chemical, metals, energy, logistics, and oil & gas facilities tells a clear story:
The 8× near-miss reporting number is particularly significant. Near-misses are the leading indicator of serious incidents — capturing them systematically is the single most effective way to prevent injuries before they happen. Most organisations know this in theory but lack the tools to detect near-misses in real time. Surveily automates it.
The founders: two Wojciechs from Wrocław
The team has grown to 13 people and includes engineers with experience across AI, computer vision, and industrial systems. More than half of the team have previously built startups — a detail that matters when you’re deploying AI into environments where a system failure has physical consequences.
Why Momenta led the round
Momenta is not a generalist VC. The firm focuses exclusively on industrial innovation across energy, manufacturing, smart spaces, and supply chains — and was ranked among the world’s top ten digital industry venture funds by PitchBook for both 2023 and 2024, one of just two European-headquartered VCs to achieve that distinction.
“We invested in Surveily because their edge AI shifts the mindset — from safety as compliance overhead to safety as operational opportunity. The platform is built, deployed, and maintained to meet the realities of industrial environments. That combination of practicality and performance defines Industrial Impact.”
— Miroslav Kriz, Principal Partner, Momenta
Co-investor Look AI Ventures, based in Prague, is the first Czech fund investing exclusively in early-stage AI startups. Their participation adds technical validation from a team that evaluates AI architecture as a core competency.
“What stood out to us about Surveily is how effectively they leverage advanced AI-powered video analytics to improve industrial safety, achieving very high accuracy. Their core differentiator is a modular, edge-native architecture that enables 100% on-premises deployment while ensuring data privacy and low-latency response without cloud dependence — a key advantage in industrial operations.”

Recognition and what’s next
Surveily’s approach has attracted attention beyond its investor base. The company has been recognised by SAP.iO Industry Munich, NVIDIA GTC, and MC Switzerland. In 2025, Deloitte and Google Cloud named Surveily the Central Europe GenAI Value Driver Award winner — a validation of both the technology and its real-world impact.
The €2.5 million will fund three priorities: enhancing the edge AI platform with more advanced real-time hazard detection, expanding deployments across chemical, metals, energy, logistics, and oil & gas sectors, and launching in the United States — where the combination of strict OSHA enforcement, high liability costs, and ageing industrial infrastructure creates a natural market for exactly this kind of solution.
For a 13-person startup from Wrocław, the ambition is significant. But the deployment data speaks for itself — and in industrial safety, proven results in live environments matter more than pitch decks.
