Triumph of Releaf Paper in ThePackHub’s Debut Packaging Startup Awards
In a resounding victory, Releaf Paper, the avant-garde creator of paper sourced from fallen leaves, proudly clinched the pinnacle position in the Alternative Materials category at ThePackHub’s inaugural Packaging Startup Awards 2023.
This eminent occasion, generously sponsored by Ocado, unfolded its grandeur amid the festivities of London Packaging Week on the 22nd of September.
Releaf Paper is the first worldwide manufacturer of paper and packaging from fallen leaves with production in Ukraine and headquartered in France. Releaf Paper started production during the COVID pandemic and moved to export sustainable packaging in Europe during the war in Ukraine in 2022.
The main production site is located in Lutsk (Ukraine). The current capacity is 10,000 tons of paper per year. We use Releaf Paper to produce Releaf Bags for shopping. The monthly production capacity is 10,000,000 bags.
Packaging Startup Awards
A venerable assembly of 15 adjudicators featuring luminaries from brand ownership and retail realms steeped in the nuances of the packaging industry meticulously scrutinized the submissions. This year’s fierce competition witnessed a staggering influx of 94 entries from across the globe, spanning an expansive spectrum of six categories: alternative materials, connected packaging, increased functionality, online, refill and reuse, and waste reduction.
Paul Jenkins, the astute Managing Director of ThePackHub, and Laura Fernandez, a seasoned Senior Packaging Sustainability Manager at Ocado Retail, took the stage to herald the laureates.
