Nucu merges Nordic baby care practices with new multisensory technology to support infant development and sleep.
Combining tradition with innovation, Finnish baby tech company Nucu is poised to introduce its multisensory baby care platform to the global market.
100% of new babies are born to millennial and GenZ parents who are used to paying for technology to enhance their lives.
Baby tech and gadgets have so far been extremely unscientific – Parenting is becoming more digital, and parents in general are more involved and want to be empowered with knowledge in their baby care.
Despite advances and over $1 billion invested in adult sleep aid technology, the infant sleep aid sector remains underdeveloped, presenting opportunities for innovation and growth.
Nucu’s platform, developed in collaboration with Nordic sleep experts and neonatologists, personalizes multisensory experiences for infants to promote better sleep habits.
The Nordics are known for their excellent postpartum baby care. The Nordic countries have cultural traditions and practices that respect and support the postpartum period, such as the Finnish maternity clinics, the Swedish baby box, and the Danish barselsbesøg.
Nucu has been working closely with Nordic baby sleep experts, neonatologists and researchers to develop solutions to enable personalized multisensory stimulation for newborns and infants to calm them and help them transition to sleeping alone.
Moreover, Nucu is focusing on building new tools to gather infant sleep and activity data, applying machine learning and artificial intelligence to enable new research breakthroughs in this area.
We have been developing and iterating our platform with professional caregivers, parents of newborns and researchers since 2016. Starting next year, more families in the Nordics will be benefiting from Nucu’s innovations.
says Juha Hannula, Nucu’s CEO and Founder.
Nucu are backed by deeptech VC Voima Ventures and wearable or wellness tech pioneers, including smart ring Oura co-founders.
Nucu’s consumer product, the Nucu Pad, will be available during 2nd quarter of 2024.
When the baby sleeps better, the whole family sleeps better. Nucu is creating proprietary technologies that can monitor and stimulate preterm and newborn babies. Its solution can also analyse their sleep architecture and important vital signs non-invasively.
Nucu’s team blends rich expertise and passion, featuring diverse backgrounds integrating profound technological and scientific skills with creative prowess in branding, communication, and commercialization.
Additionally, their dynamic advisory and board members, including contributors from the Oura founding team, bring invaluable vision and expertise to propel Nucu towards success.
