Lithuanian-based “Joiner App” Tackles Loneliness by Connecting People Offline
“Joiner App”, an innovative socialization platform, celebrates significant milestones: a tenfold user increase and securing over half a million euros for global expansion.
In just two months, the Lithuanian startup has grown its user base 10-fold. Founded by Eduard Titov, the “Joiner App” aims to combat loneliness by helping people find activities and companionship wherever they are.
“Joiner App” is a socialization platform that helps users connect with like-minded people worldwide. It recently attracted over €0.5M in investment from angel investors. This funding will enable “Joiner App” to expand into new markets, starting with Poland and the USA.
We target countries with high loneliness rates because our app effectively addresses this issue.
says Plungytė
User testimonials and endorsements from psychologists further highlight the app’s positive impact.
In the “Joiner App” feed, users can browse and discover nearby activities that align with their interests. They can also set up their events or activities. A key feature of the app is its chat function, which enables users to communicate after joining an event. Additionally, users can follow one another, and the most engaged members have the opportunity to become influencers.
Born during isolation
Eduard Titov conceived the “Joiner App” during the COVID-19 quarantine when he was travelling abroad and feeling isolated. His experience of deep loneliness inspired him to develop a platform for connecting people through shared activities and interests.
Loneliness affects one in five people globally and has serious mental and physical health impacts. In Lithuania, loneliness has become an epidemic affecting all age groups. Our goal is to address this.
says co-founder Jūratė Plungytė, ex-CMO of Uber Lithuania.
In Jurate’s opinion, new dating apps appear daily in the fast-paced and competitive US market, each promoting its unique features. Yet, there’s often a lack of focus on tools designed for general socialization rather than just romance. The value of live communication and genuine interactions can sometimes be overlooked, even though authentic connections and meaningful social experiences are crucial.
Superstars team
Joiner App’s success is driven by a skilled team, including former Tinder monetization and UX design leaders and a former Uber marketing head. The team is supported by collaborating with a top Lithuanian influencer and Ogilvy Vilnius.
My strategy was to maintain a lean team where each member is highly skilled and professional. We already had two outstanding team members from Tinder and Uber, but we needed expertise in social media marketing.
That’s when we found Ibrahim Uyar, a local famous influencer from Lithuania, who now serves as our CMO. Ibrahim’s creativity, talent, and personable nature made it easy for us to connect quickly. Working with such exceptional people is truly inspiring.
says Eduard Titov.
The “Joiner App” stands out as a beacon of hope in the crowded digital landscape. Its rapid growth and expanding user base underscore its potential to revolutionize social networking. Launching in the US, with its diverse population and strong demand for connection, holds great promise.
The challenges of relocation highlight the real need for platforms like the “Joiner App” to foster meaningful connections.
With its rich cultural mix, the US offers an ideal environment for this, and investors recognize the significant potential in “Joiner App”‘s vision.
“Joiner App” is dedicated to revolutionizing social interactions by shifting the focus from traditional dating apps to fostering authentic connections. The startup aims to enhance how people engage with each other, moving beyond superficial encounters.
Looking ahead, “Joiner App” is excited to broaden its influence and positively impact social lives globally. The app seeks to create a more connected and supportive world by prioritising meaningful engagements and real relationships.
