Spotify, Uber, Mastercard, Second Story: the world’s most innovative digital designers on stage
After the four successful editions of Milan and Geneva, with over 7000 creatives from 63 different countries, the Digital Design Days are back from October 10th to 12th: three days of networking meetings, workshops, and masterclasses in the new location of Superstudio Più, in the heart of Milan’s Design District, gathering the most influential Digital Design operators and the most creative international brands.
3000 expected guest, from different industries, cultures and backgrounds: designers and developers, entrepreneurs, freelancers and startuppers, brand managers, HR managers, producers and marketers taking part in the event not just for a professional update about digital design and innovation, but also to get inspired, learn and expand their own business.

50 international speakers, including several real digital design gurus, following one another in a packed schedule of meetings, workshops, and networking activities:
– a chance for learning all the secrets in this field and improving your skills by meeting the likes of Keri Elmsly, Chief Creative Officer at Second Story – which invented and elevated the art of digital narration, at first by turning upside down the museum experience, and then, after Sapient Publicis’ takeover, by address also the retail world
– Rasmus Wangelin, Global Design Director Brand at Spotify – a professional with over 12 years of experience in the digital sector, where he worked for Nike, Google, Sony, Samsung, YouTube, and Intel, earning awards as big as the Cannes Lions, One Show, Art Directors Club, D&AD.
The guests’ list will also include Michael Gough, Product Design Vice-President at Uber where he leads a team of over 250 designers and researchers working every day to perfect the Uber experience and improve the interaction between physical and digital experience.
The stage will also receive Cindy Chastain, SVP of Global Customer Experience & Design at Mastercard: her mission is to increase the brand identity through design, by devising new experiences for the final users. Cindy has previously worked with Nike, Volvo, HP, Verizon, Qantas Airlines, Walmart, BBC Worldwide, GlaxoSmith Klein, Showtime, Coca-Cola, Unilever, Pfizer, and HSBC.
Moreover, for the first time in Italy, we will see Martin Pellettier, VFX supervisor and head of Rodeo FX‘ Quebec City offices. Martin has worked for Netflix as a special effects supervisor for two world-famous series: Stranger Things and Game of Thrones.
The talks are complemented by 8 intensive workshops of 4 hours each, with exclusive contents, case studies and strategies explaining how to transform an idea into a successful product, how to become a leader thanks to LinkedIn social media, how to grow your own business with Instagram marketing, how to create sound design elements for animations, motion graphics and movies.
The 10,000 square meters will also host creative installations by international digital artists and designers.
Many opportunities to create new professional bonds between operators and companies
Professional updating, training and more: the event will represent a chance to create new professional bonds, through networking activities between digital design professionals and the most innovative brands seeking for international talents.
To bring brands and professionals together, the Digital Design Days web app will be made available in the next days: a sort of digital designers’ Tinder to find out more about the next edition’s protagonists and to arrange one-on-one meetings between attendees.
The Digital Design Award for the Italian creative excellences
The festival’s closing event, Saturday, October 12th at 5 PM, will be the Digital Design Award ceremony: the yearly prize for Italian digital creativity and communication.
In the afternoon, the winners of the prestigious DDDOT statuette will be announced, selected by a national and international design professionals and leaders panel.
The award considers five main categories: People’s Choice, Digital Agency of the Year, Digital Freelance of the year, Innovative Project of the Year, Digital Project of the Year.
The birth of the Digital Design Days
The Digital Design Days (produced by SG Company S.p.A., one of the main Live & Digital communication players in Italy, listed on AIM Italia stock exchange since July 26th, 2018) were
Filippo Spiezia, the event’s founder and curator, award-winning designer, specialized in storytelling. Filippo has run several design studios in Italy and Europe, working as an art director in projects for Fortune 500 companies and recently worked as come Senior Interaction Designer at Second Story Interactive Studios, part of SapientNitro at Portland, OR.
